I love to teach because I love to learn and to bring out the love of learning in others. The art of teaching is a skill that can constantly be refined and re-defined. Spending my days with kids keeps me smiling and reminds me of what matters most in life.
My favorite adult book is The Power of One by Bryce Courtenay and my favorite children's book is Lilly's Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes.
You can usually find me biking, running, hiking, swimming or baking when I am not in the classroom. I also love to read and knit.
I love that PSD has a program like PGA for the variety of learners in our school district. PGA allows students to experience the school setting while learning at their own pace in the home-school environment . This hybrid program allows students to experience school and learning in a way that fits them the best.
"The ultimate aim of education is to enable individuals to become the architects of their own education and through that process to continually reinvent themselves." (Elliot W. Eisner)
I currently teach 4th /5th grade at PGA ant 1st grade at Options.
In my classroom you will find an environment suited for learning that respects everyone and asks that all who enter do their best work.
