About Me
Educational Background:

Master of Education, Curriculum and Instruction from National-Louis University in Chicago
Bachelor of Arts, Economics and Germanic Studies from Indiana University-Bloomington

Why I enjoy teaching:

The relationships!  I love collaborating with my fellow teachers and being able to be silly with my middle school students.  : )

Favorite Books:

So many!  I LOVE children's literature too, so enjoying reading lots with my daughter.
Here are some recent books I enjoyed:
Becoming by Michelle Obama
Olive Kitteridge by Elizabeth Strout
Girl in Translation by Jean Kwok
Secrets of a Charmed Life by Susan Meissner

Interests & Hobbies:

With a 2 year-old daughter, most of my free time goes to family time with her, my husband Ben, and my dog Wendell.  We try to be outside as much as possible!  Hiking, snowshoeing, hanging with our friendly neighbors, etc.  I also enjoy lap swimming and yoga.

I was born and raised in Louisville, KY so come the first Saturday in May, you will find me celebrating the Kentucky Derby!  ("Best 2 minutes in sports!")

What I love about my school:

PGA is more than a school!  It truly feels like extended family and I love that we are small and have all grade levels.  It's fun to see kindergartners and seniors walking by my classroom.

Favorite Quote:

" 'Stuckness' is simply reluctance to take the next step. Cut your next step in half.  Then cut each half in half. Make the next step as small as you can. Then TAKE it." ~ Martha Beck
