Partnering to Support and Empower Each Learner

Bonny Shuman

Integrated Services Teacher

I am thrilled to be entering my first year at PGA and my 29th year in teaching. I have worked in grades kindergarten through 12 as a special educator in various settings, including residential treatment facilities, day treatent centers, alternative schools and public schools in several different states. I have a BA in English and an MA in Special Education, both from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs. I love getting to know my students and learning what excites them, how they are best able to learn, and how I can be of help. I always learn more from my students than they learn from me.

In my leisure time, I enjoy playing the piano, reading, cooking, painting, and traveling. I have one daughter in New York City and one in Seattle, so it helps that I enjoy traveling. I am also music director in a church.

I look forward to getting to know all my new coworkers and students. It will be a wonderful year!
